Porcelain veneers can change the color, shape, and contour of your teeth. They may also be used to close gaps, and fix chips on front teeth. Placement of porcelain veneers involve removing just a fraction of a millimeter of tooth structure on the front of the tooth. The reduction leaves enough space to bond a porcelain shell over the natural tooth. Veneers typically require two or more visits and teeth are temporized between visits.
Composite bonding may be completed on front teeth to fix chips and cracks. Unlike veneers, which cover the full front surface of the tooth, bonding covers small portions to alter the shape or fill in cracks or chips. The composite material will match the exact color of your teeth, making it virtually invisible. Occasionally, composite bonding may be used to slightly alter the shape of the tooth.
